Service One

Music Therapy
Description: Teach seniors music therapy activities such as conducting sing-a-longs and forming a choir. Must be experienced in this field and have the  ability to play an instrument.
Objective:  Inspire, motivate and expose program participants to explore a variety of musical genres and to be creative in their musical expression.
Schedule: A one hour session on Monday or Friday between 10:00 am -1:30 pm.

Art & Crafts Instructor
Description: Instruct seniors with arts and crafts projects.  Must have valid experience in this field or certification.
Objective: Create different art projects with seniors such as drawing, painting, needlepoint crocheting and knitting.
Schedule: A one hour session on Tuesday or Wednesday between 10:00 am –1:30 pm.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities
Description:
The Senior Center at Charles Houston welcomes volunteers with diverse talents. Although, Music Therapy and Art and Crafts Instructors  are listed, we welcome volunteers to assist with special programs, holiday events and to provide our center participants exposure to diverse talents and skills.

(A background check will be required.)
